Protecting an area of 968 sq km of sal forest, Bardia National Park is the largest untouched wilderness area in the Terai region. An estimation of 22 Royal Bengal Tigers and 100 one-horned Rhinos reside in the National Park. Apart from these beasts, mammals in the park include grey langurs, rhesus macaques, leopards, civets, hyenas, sloth bears, and barking, spotted, sambar and hog deer can also be spotted. It is said the Bardia National Park has more than 250 species of birds including the endangered Bengal florican and sarus crane. If you are lucky enough, you can even spot Gharial and Marsh mugger crocodiles and Gangetic dolphins occasionally on rafting and canoe trips along the Geruwa River.

Nepal is not just famous for trekking in the snow-capped Himalayan region, but it also has some exotic jungle safaris destinations in the world.
