The sanctuary of Gods is what we name the most popular trail amongst trekkers; the Annapurna Base Camp (also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trekking). Though it is one of the shortest treks, it offers you intensely scenic mountain vista taking you to the lap of the world’s tenth highest mountain - Mt. Annapurna. The path takes you to the heart of the Annapurna Range, crossing hills and valleys and passing through numerous beautiful villages settled by various ethnic groups, namely Gurung, Thakali, Magar, Manangi and so on. You can also discover their special lifestyles, customs, enjoy local dishes and delicacies.

The best seasons to schedule a trek to Annapurna Base Camp are March-May and September-December. Annapurna base camp trekking begins with a one-day drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, the picturesque valley and the trekking starting point. You'll have a short drive from Pokhara to Nayapul the next day, from where the actual trek begins. You will reach Ghorepani as you start the trekking alongside the terraced farm field walking past Tikhedhunga. After a short rest at Ghorepani, you have a short hike up to Poon Hill, the best hill station from where the sunrise and sunset views with the backdrop of majestic mountain vistas located to the Annapurna region are the perfect scenes to the eyes. Passing through the beautiful settlement of Gurung ethnic community in Ghorepani, you can start trek to Tadapani, Sinuwa, and Deurali and finally, reach Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m).
