Day 1
Arrival at Kathmandu
When you arrive at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from our organization will greet you and wish you a warm welcome to Nepal before driving you to the hotel you've reserved. After the check-in process is complete, you can unwind and sleep at the hotel. In order to familiarize you with some good restaurants, ATMs, money changers, and other vital places you might need during your stay in Thamel, the office staff will later accompany you on a brief tour of the neighborhood.
Day 2
Drive Kathmandu to Syabrubesi
Early departure from Kathmandu is advised for the seven-hour trip to the Langtang Valley's entrance. Even though the Tamang Heritage Trail isn't too far from Kathmandu, the road is hilly, meandering, and climbs high, giving us wonderful panoramic views of the Annapurnas, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and the peaks of the Langtang region. The route then descends to the valley of the Trisuli River, which it subsequently follows for the most of the day's trip.
Day 3
Syabrubesi trek to Gatlang (approx. 5.5 hours)
The usual starting point for both the Gosainkunda and the Langtang Valley treks is Syabrubesi, but instead of going in those directions, climb a view point for an hour and a half for a breathtaking view of the Goljang Valley, the Gosainkunda mountain, and the Ganesh Himal. After a one-hour trek, proceed to the Goljang Valley and halt for lunch there. Trek for around three hours to get to the lovely Tamang village of Gatlang in the afternoon.
Day 4
Gatlang to Tatopani (approx. 7 hours)
The descent to Thangbuchet, by a magnificent river, is where the hike today starts. Following lunch, the trail resumes its ascent, crossing a hanging bridge, and continuing upward to Tatopani, where you will spend the night. The name of the town, which is used for settlements all over Nepal, literally translates to "hot water" in Nepali. Unsurprisingly, you may enjoy the hot springs that naturally shoot up from the ground here. Locals think the waters have a healing nature, and they will undoubtedly relieve any discomfort from the walk.
Day 5
Tatopani to Thuman (approx. 4 hours)
Today, the trail climbs to the high, open grassland of Nagthali Danda (3,300 m/ 10,826 ft), which offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Take a break for lunch at the charming Brimdang village before continuing on to Nagthali Danda. When you arrive, pause for the gompa's caretaker's masala chiya (tea). Then proceed to Thuman, a Tamang village with amiable residents who enjoy singing and dancing. Maybe even invite you to participate.
Day 6
Thuman to Briddim (approx. 5 hours)
Our hike today starts out on a flatter portion of the trail before descending to Timure. It partially follows the former trade route to Tibet, which is actually only a three-hour walk away. Nowadays, though, it is impossible to cross the border on foot, and there are numerous police officers stationed along the routes in this region. The walk continues to Briddim, another Tamang town, after lunch, where you'll stay in a local family's home for a really distinctive experience. On a rotating basis, neighborhood homes offer all forms of lodging and food.
Day 7
Briddim trek to Syabrubesi (approx. 3 hours)
Today's three-hour stroll back to Syabrubesi is simple. There, have lunch, and then unwind or explore in the late afternoon. Syabrubesi is a small village with a few businesses that sell regional handicrafts manufactured by women, like vibrant aprons and shawls made in the regional fashion.
Day 8
Drive back to Kathmandu
As you return to Kathmandu, soak in the mountain landscape.
