The Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek offers breathtaking views of some of the world's highest peaks, including Kanchenjunga, Jannu, Kabru, and others. You'll pass through diverse landscapes, including lush forests, beautiful rhododendron forests, high alpine meadows, and remote Tibetan villages. The trail also offers a chance to encounter unique flora and fauna, as the area is rich in biodiversity.

Day 1

Arrive at Kathmandu

When you land at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from our company receives you up and drives you to the hotel. Spend the night in Kathmandu at a four-star hotel. 

Day 2

Leisure day at Kathmandu, followed by flight to Bhadrapur

We take a lovely flight to Bhadrapur in the afternoon. We take a jeep ride to Ilam after landing.  Ilam, the largest tea-growing region in Nepal, is a popular destination for both international and domestic travelers. Large tea plantations may be found in the charming town of Ilam, which is also well-known for its cheese-based Himalayan chew. Spend the night in an Ilam hotel.

Day 3

Drive to Taplejung

Today, we ride in a private vehicle to Taplejung. To go to the Limbu settlement of Taplejung, we pass through Phidim while traveling through a gorgeous rural area.

Day 4

Trek from Taplejung to Mitlung (921m/4-5 hours)

Today's trekking route travels through a number of villages with classic mud-brick homes and green middle hills. Along the way, we pass by cardamom farms, terraced fields, and rice paddies. 

Day 5

Trek from Mitlung to Chiruwa (1,270m/5-6 hours)

Today we travel through the villages of Sinwa, Tawa, and Porke, which are Tamang and Limbu. Before descending to Thiwa Khola, we also cross across old landslide debris, boulders, and scattered river deposits. To get to Chiruwa, we then cross a wooden bridge.

Day 6

Trek from Chiruwa to Sukethum (1,579m/5-6 hours)

We trek past the settlements of Taplethok, Tamewa, Hellok, and Lelep before descending to the Simbu Khola, which rises from the Yalung Glacier, while following the Tamor River. After that, we go through the challenging Ghunsa Khola valley until we reach Sukethum.

Day 7

Trek from Sukathum to Amjilosa (2,308m/6-7 hours)

We travel towards Amjilosa along the Ghunsa Khola, traveling over exposed, steep uphills. We arrive at the Tibetan settlement of Amjilosa after admiring the breathtaking scenery and passing across multiple bridges over Ghunsa Khola. 

Day 8

Trek from Amjilosa to Gyabla (2,730m/6-7 hours)

Today, before climbing to Gyabla, we traverse a wooded trail lined with bamboo and rhododendrons. On our way to Gyabla, we also come across a sizable waterfall on the other side of the river. We climb steeply and then descend to reach Gyabla.

Day 9

Trek from Gyabla to Ghunsa (3,595m/6-7 hours)

We walk through a large meadow as we make our way towards Ghunsa after leaving the lovely Gyabla village behind. To go to the Tibetan village of Ghunsa, which has wooden dwellings, a micro hydropower plant, a school, and a health post, we then ascend a little hill, descend, and cross a river.

Day 10

Acclimatization day

We make a quick 400-meter ascent to the other side of Ghunsa Khola in order to acclimate to the thinning air. We can spend the remainder of the day after the climb exploring the historic village of Ghunsa, visiting temples, and learning about its Buddhist customs and culture. 

Day 11

Trek from Ghunsa to Khangpachen (4,050m/5-6 hours)

Today, we start our trip by entering the road through the forest that runs along the southern bank of the Ghunsa Khola, passing numerous Mani walls and Chortens en route. To reach the Tibetan community of Khangpachen, from where we can see the breathtaking panorama of the north face of Jannu (7,710m), we must also travel across a number of scree slopes and a number of glacial moraines.

Day 12

Trek from Khangpachen to Lhonak (4,780m/5-6 hours)

We leave Khangpachen behind and proceed along the path that runs alongside Kanchenjunga Glacier on the left. In order to get to the Lhonak campground, we travel across a lofty plateau. Massive mountain summits including Wegde Peak (6,802m), Mera Peak (6364m), Nepal Peak (7,177m), Twins (7,350m), and many others can be seen in the distance from Lhonak.

Day 13

Trek from Lhonak to Kanchenjunga Base Camp 5143m and Trek back to Lhonak (4,780m/6-7 hours)

Today, we travel the trail that runs beside the glaciers on the northern peaks in the direction of Kanchenjunga Base Camp. The camp, also known as Pang Pema, offers a breathtaking view of Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586m), as well as the skyline of snow-capped mountain ranges that border Nepal with India and Nepal with Tibet then proceed to Lhonak by foot.

Day 14

Trek from Lhonak to Ghunsa (3,595m/5-6 hours)

After the incredible experiences in KBC and Lhonak, we follow the same route back to Ghunsa while taking in the breathtaking views of various mountains. We trek on the moraines of Kanchenjunga Glacier and Kumbhakarna Glacier until we reach Ghunsa, passing by Lhonak and Khangpachen.

Day 15

Trek from Ghunsa to High Camp (4,100m/6-7 hours)

We hike a difficult rocky trail through a forest of birch, pine, and vibrant rhododendron to get to the High Camp. From High Camp, one can see Jannu (7,710m), Nyukla Laching (6,670m), Temachunggi (6,044m), and other majestic mountains.

Day 16

Trek from High Camp to Tseram (3,870m/8-9 hours) via Sele -La Pass (4,480m) and Sinion La Pass (4,660m)

As we travel to Tseram, we must cross two passes, the tallest of which is the Sele La (4,480m), and the second is the Sinion La (4,660). We are rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Yalung Glacier, Jannu (7710m), Makalu (8481m), Baruntse (7,129m), Kanchenjunga (8,586m), and numerous more mountain ranges along the Sikkim border after we reach the top of the passes. 

Day 17

Trek from Tseram to Ramche (4,580m/4-5 hours

We move towards Ramche by passing the moraines of Yalung Glacier and entering an ablation valley. We also come across a lake and a meadow, both of which have grassy slopes where we can see blue sheep grazing. at the evening, we'll go to the little monastery at Ramche. 

Day 18

Explore to Oktang (4,730m/2-3 hours) and trek back to Tseram (3,870m/5-6 hours)

We tour the Yalung Base Camp region today. We cross Oktang by hiking through glacial moraines and a strenuous rocky road. From here, we can see Jannu (7,720m) and Kanchenjunga (8,586m), as well as a number of other peaks, from a great distance away.Retracing our steps, we go in the direction of Anda Phedi while taking in the scenery of various mountain ranges and flocks of blue sheep grazing on the grassy incline.

Day 19

Trek from Tseram to Tortong (2,995m/6-7 hours)

We travel through the heavily forested trail lined with bushes and rhododendrons as we head toward Tortong. On our approach to Tortong, we also come across a few streams, Chortens, monasteries, ponds, and waterfalls. 

Day 20

Trek from Tortong to Yamphudim (2,080m/6-7 hours)

After crossing Lasiya Bhanjyang (3,310m) and Dhupi Bhanjyang (2,620m), we continue to descend until we reach the Amji Khola before descending to Yamphudim. A mixed group of Sherpa, Rai, Limbu, and Gurung people call Yamphudim home.

Day 21

Trek from Yamphudim to Khebang (1,915m/5-6 hours)

As we leave Yamphudim behind, we travel through valleys, waterfalls, and forested areas as we make our way down to Khebang. We go past little towns along Kabeli Khola and over suspension bridges over various creeks to reach Khebang.

Day 22

Drive Khebang to Ilam (1,210m/6-7 hours) by jeep

We take a long drive to Ilam enjoying the view of green hills, snow-capped mountains, rivers, and daily activities of the locals throughout the ride. From the mountainous part, we are now in the flatlands of Nepal.

Day 23

Morning drive from Ilam to Bhadrapur airport 3-4 hours by jeep and flight back to Kathmandu

In order to catch our aircraft back to the capital city, we travel to Bhadrapur Airport. We arrive in Kathmandu while admiring the mountainous landscape from above. We transport you to the hotel after you land. Spend the night in Kathmandu at a four-star hotel.

Day 24

Departure

With the hope of meeting you again, we transfer you to the Tribhuvan International Airport for your final farewell.
