The Kanchenjunga Conservation Area is where the Lumba Sumba Pass Trek is situated in Nepal's eastern region. It joins Kanchenjunga and Makalu Barun, two isolated valleys. Depending on the itinerary and personal preferences, the trek typically lasts 20 to 22 days. It includes exhaustingly long walking days as well as inclining and descending slopes. Two of the highest peaks in the world, the Kanchenjunga and Makalu ranges, are visible from the trek and provide breathtaking vistas. Along with a variety of plants and animals, you'll see red pandas, snow leopards, rhododendron woods, and alpine meadows.

Day 1

Arrival at Kathmandu

One of the LekhBesi officials will welcome you when you arrive at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport. After that, you'll be driven to the hotel of your choice and guided through the check-in process. You will get a briefing about the Lumba Sumba Pass Trek in the hotel lobby after you have showered and had a little break. If you'd like, we can spend a small amount of time later meandering through the Thamel market. You will learn about the surroundings and way of life in the area. We will pass by numerous little Hindu and Buddhist temples, shrines, and stupas as we walk the streets of Thamel. 

Day 2

Sightseeing around Kathmandu

We will begin your guided tour of Kathmandu's historical sites after breakfast. First, we'll travel to Boudhanath Stupa, the largest stupa in Nepal and one of the largest in terms of size and worth in the entire globe.

After Boudhanath, we'll travel to Pashupatinath Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. One of the most important Hindu sites in Nepal is this one.

After visiting these significant locations, we head back to Thamel to finish any last-minute shopping for your Lumba Sumba Pass Trek, if necessary. 

Day 3

Fly to Suketar and trek to Chiruwa (1,270m/4-5hrs.))

Our days of trekking toward the Lumba Sumba Pass will start today. After arriving in Suketar by early flight, the trip starts along the Tamor River with a short walk to Furumba, followed by a climb and drop to Siwa Bazaar. The trail ascends till it reaches the Kanchenjunga Conservation checkpoint, after which it gradually descends to Chiruwa. This area is essential farming for the valley because of the freshwater and the existence of fertile soil. After a 5- to 6-hour journey, we will take in Chiurwa's beauty.

Day 4

Trek to Lelep (1,687m/7hrs)

Additionally, hike rungs along the powerful Tamor River today. At the beginning of the walk, you will come across two significant stones. We finally arrive in Tapethok after a leisurely two and a half-hour stroll through lovely cardamom gardens. It's a tiny market with nearby tea cafes where you may take a short break. As soon as you pass the checkpoint, you begin to ascend a slope toward your current location. We will explore the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area headquarters in Lelep once we arrive and have had a chance to clean up. 

Day 5

Trek to Ia Danda (2,051m/6hrs)

Following breakfast, we travel towards Ila danda through a thick forest that provides beneficial homes for several wildlife species. To get to the monastery, we ascend through a pine forest after crossing the lovely suspension bridge. We stop by the monastery, pay a visit, and have a little time to relax before beginning the descent to Gowatar, a little village. Walking for 30 minutes from Gowatar,

We arrive at a location with breath-taking vistas of two 100-meter-tall waterfalls. As we continue our journey after taking in the scenery and saying goodbye to the waterfalls, we cross the Tamor River and arrive at Chautaroo (Chautaroo is a customary resting area). Ila danda, our final stop, is reached after another 30 minutes of walking. The location provides a magnificent view of mountains.

Day 6

Trek to Selep Kharka (2,525m/6hrs)

We walk through a lovely rhododendron woodland today after breakfast. We arrive at the suspension bridge, where the dense bamboo forest begins, after an hour of trekking. Red Pandas frequent the area. If you're fortunate, you might see a red panda. We finally arrive in Maguwa after walking for nearly three and a half hours. The trail travels through a forest of maple and ulnus. From here, it takes us roughly an hour to get to our destination through the woods. 

Day 7

Trek to Olangchung Gola (3,280m/5hrs)

Early in the morning, after breakfast, we travel down the Tamor River's bank toward Jongim. The flat terrain of Jognim is encircled by snow-covered slopes. The walk crosses a suspension bridge and a rhododendron grove. We finally arrive at Ramite after a one-hour, steep ascent. A Deodar and rhododendron mixed forest can be seen here. After continuing our hike for about an hour past Ramite, we come across a stunning waterfall. After a 45-minute walk from the waterfall, we will see the lovely Olangcgung Gola village in the distance. When we get at Olangchung Gola, we can tour the monastery's office for KCAP and the golden text. It's a lovely Sherpa community. 

Day 8

Trek to Upper Langmane (3,893m/6hrs)

We set out on our walk into this area's wildness this morning after breakfast. However, along the road, stone clumps serve as markers that point in the right path. The walk travels through rhododendron and pine trees. Two and a half hours later, we arrive at Jadak, where we take a little break before continuing on the snowy path to our final destination.

 

Day 9

Trek to Pass Camp (4,747m/6hrs)

Today, the trek runs along the Tamor River, and on the other side of the river lies a dense rhododendron forest. After a walk of about 3 hours, we reach a place called Tangchetar. Another 3 hours of walk until we reach our destination today.

Day 10

Trek to ChauriKharka via Lumba Sumba Pass (4,595m/6hrs)

We are about to explore Lumba Sumba Pass (5177 M), therefore today is a thrilling day. It would be challenging but worthwhile. The trail today ascends and descends. Lunch is prepared for today. We arrive at Lumba Sumba Pass after a strenuous five-hour walk from the pass camp. We approach the height by walking steadily without rushing and by drinking plenty of water. After exploring the Lumba Sumba Pass overnight, we head south toward Chaurikharka. 

Day 11

Trek to Thudam (3,500m/7hrs)

After breakfast today, we head south toward Thudam. At the very end of the forest, we begin to see civilization. We reach Dobato (usually an intersection of two roads, routes, or trails) after a three and a half-hour walk. One takes us to Lyasha in Tibet, while the other directs us to our last stop. We continue walking till we arrive at Thudam village.

Day 12

Trek to Yak Kharka (2,877m/6hrs)

We stroll down the Chujung Khola today. The Makalu range can be seen from all angles from the path today. Small shrubs and bamboo groves line the path. Red Pandas are very well-known there. If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of an endangered Red Panda munching on bamboo. Since there are fewer water facilities today, we always carry a full bottle of water. We arrive at our destination today after six hours of walking and six hours of getting lost in the woods.

Day 13

Trek to Chyamtanng (2,229m/6hrs)

We set out on our adventure to Chyamtang this morning after breakfast. Throughout the trail, there is a thick rhododendron forest. From Yak kharka, it takes us around three hours to go to Chaurikharka, from which we can see the lovely Chyamtang in the distance. Our route continues to be downward until we reach the Arun River, where we cross a suspension bridge and begin an ascent to our current location. As we approach Chyamtang, we can observe Sherpa culture and way of life. 

Day 14

Trek to Hatiya (1,595m/7hrs)

After breakfast in the early morning, we stroll through rhododendron forests filled with birdsong. Due to the fact that we are entering ARUN VALLEY, which is home to numerous bird species, the route is one of the most well-known for bird viewing. We travel for around two and a half hours to Glimber Village, where we take a short break while gazing at the Makalu Range's snow-capped mountains. From Glimber, Hatiya (a small settlement of Bhote people) is accessible via a short, three-hour walk. The entrance to Makalu National Park is situated in Hatiya.  

Day 15

Trek to Gola (1,128m/6hrs)

Today marks the end of our second week of hiking while gathering memories. We stroll along the Arun River's bank while remembering the memories we've made together. We arrive at the meeting point of the Arun and Barun rivers after a two and a half hour trek. As we explore this lovely location, we move toward Gola. We go to Gola in around two and a half hours. When we go to Gola, we may observe the Tamang, Rai, and Sherpa cultures and way of life.

Day 16

Trek to Hedanga Gadhi (1,179m/5hrs)

We are on lowlands because the hike goes through paddy fields. We arrive at Pathivara after a roughly two-and-a-half-hour trek and witness a Gurung village with tea shops, grocery stores, and a few hotels. There are both human dwellings and agricultural land along the trail. Today, three hours of walking later, we arrive at our destination. Historical battles between the Nepali Army and the invading Tibetan army took place at Gadhi.

Day 17

Trek to Num & Drive to Tumlingtar (518m/3hrs)

The last day of our adventure is today. After two and a half hours of walking from Gadhi, we cease our journey. To the Arun River, the trail slopes downward. After crossing the river, we must climb uphill for almost 1.5 hours before reaching Num settlement. We tie the bag here before packing it, putting it in the vehicle, and driving to Tumlingtar. Terraced fields of various colors line the road. Tumlingtar is reached after a beautiful 4- to 5-hour trip.

Day 18

Fly back to Kathmandu

After breakfast, we drive you to the Tumlingtar Airport in preparation for your trip to Kathmandu. Once more, a fantastic aerial perspective of vast vistas and hills will be at your grasp. You are on your own once you arrive in the capital and check into your accommodation. To relax after a hard day of trekking, you might choose to take a guided tour of Kathmandu or go to one of the Thamel spas. We will have a farewell supper with the staff in the evening featuring traditional Nepalese food. 

Day 19

Departure

You will be transferred to the airport after breakfast or 3 hours prior to your scheduled flight back to your home country or onward destination.
