- Duration : 24 Days Trip
- Altitude : 6150 M
USD$3500USD$3300- starting price
A difficult and hazardous trip in the wild and isolated Everest region is the Sherpani Col Pass trip. The Sherpani Col Pass (6,135 meters/20,128 feet), West Col (6,143 meters/20,161 feet), and Amphu Lapcha Pass (5,845 meters/19,179 feet) must be crossed. The trek is regarded as one of Nepal's most technically challenging treks and calls for climbing expertise, knowledge, and the appropriate gear. As you will experience steep ascents, descents, glacier crossings, and segments with fixed ropes, it mixes elements of both trekking and climbing.

Day 1
Arrival at Kathmandu
One of the LekhBesi officials will welcome you when you arrive at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport. After that, you'll be driven to the hotel of your choice and guided through the check-in process. You will get a briefing about the Sherpeni Col Pass Trek in the hotel lobby after you have showered and had a little break. If you'd like, we can spend a small amount of time later meandering through the Thamel market. You will learn about the surroundings and way of life in the area. We will pass by numerous little Hindu and Buddhist temples, shrines, and stupas as we walk the streets of Thamel.
Day 2
Sightseeing around Kathmandu
We will begin your guided tour of Kathmandu's historical sites after breakfast. First, we'll travel to Boudhanath Stupa, the largest stupa in Nepal and one of the largest in terms of size and worth in the entire globe.
After Boudhanath, we'll travel to Pashupatinath Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. One of the most important Hindu sites in Nepal is this one.
After visiting these significant locations, we head back to Thamel to finish any last-minute shopping for your Sherpeni Cole Pass Trek, if necessary.
Day 3
Fly to Tumlingtar & Drive to Num (1,500m/6hrs)
After breakfast, we'll make the short trip to the airport to get a flight to Tumlingtar, which is 950 meters above sea level. You will be able to observe a variety of snow-capped peaks spanning from Langtang to Mt. Everest, Makalu, and Mt. Kanchenjunga during the 50-minute scenic trip.
We will meet up with our trekking groups when we get to Tumlingtar Airport, a small community perched above the Arun River. Then, after traveling for 3 to 4 hours from Kumal village and Khadbari, we arrive at Num after passing through additional farm areas and a subtropical forest of Sal trees.
Day 4
Trek to Seduwa (1,600m/6hrs)
Today's hike begins with a descent down a remarkably steep, terraced slope to the Arun River, which is roughly 800 meters below us. This little valley's lower slopes are heavily wooded, and the pathways are slippery. Once we reach the bottom, we will use a suspension bridge to cross the raging Arun River before returning to our lunch location outside of the forest.
Day 5
Trek to Tashi Gaon (2,100m/4hrs)
We begin our enjoyable short hike into Murimi Danda through a moderate pass shortly after breakfast. We will travel through numerous farms and little towns. Then, to reach the Narbu Gaon, our trail makes its way through millet and rice farms before gradually ascending up a jungle-covered slope. After there, we continue on through fields, forests, and meadows to a school at the bottom of the hill, where we descend a stone stairway to reach Tashi Gaon, a Sherpa settlement. On the route to Makalu Base Camp, it is the last settlement.
Day 6
Trek to Khongma Danda (3,500/6hrs)
After breakfast, we depart Tashi Gaon, the last human habitation, and travel to Khongma Danda. We will have to travel across several steep paths at greater altitudes, so it will be a challenging day. We'll go through the forest till we reach a brook, then we'll climb to a ridge. From this point on, the trail steepens and travels through a Kharka (grazing area) before leading us to the peak of the ridge through a set of stone steps and tiny lakes.
Then, after a brief stroll, we shall arrive at Khongma Danda. When we get at our campsite, we set up tent, unwind, and explore the area.
Day 7
Trek to Mumbuk/Dobato (3,400m/6hrs)
Our day starts with breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery, snow-capped mountains, and daybreak. After breakfast, we start the challenging ascent to the ridge's summit via less-steep rhododendron woodlands. The Thulo Pokhari (big pond) and the Sano Pokhari (little pond) are visible as we travel a path with a moderate grade and a number of ascents and descents. If it has just snowed, the route from here may be deceptive.
Day 8
Trek to Yangli Kharka (3,600m/7hrs)
After breakfast, we continue our hike, detour into a narrow valley, and cross the Barun Khola shortly after Tamatan Kharka. The journey today takes around five to six hours, and as it goes on, the terrain becomes increasingly challenging. Near the conclusion, the trail gets treacherous and arduous.
Day 9
Stay in Yangli Kharka and short hike to Shivadhara
We leave early in the morning with the food we prepared and lots of water. To get to Shiva Dhara (4310m), we carefully rise past Nghe Kharka at 3710 meters. The holy tap pours down a sheer cliff, and you can bathe in it. If time and your interest allow, after touring Shiva Dhara, we'll stop by adjacent places like Parvati Gupha and Ama Bhujung. We thoroughly enjoy the scenery before going back to Yangli Kharka.
Day 10
Trek to Langmale Kharka (4,410m/4 hrs)
After breakfast, we depart Yangli Kharka and continue walking in the direction of Langmale Kharka. From YangleKharka, a moderate ascent leads to Nehe Kharka at 3,750 meters, which is also designated by prayer flags. As we proceed, we will pass a waterfall, the Riphuk Herders Camo, and the 4,210-meter Jhat Kharka Herders Camp. Then, after a short elevation, we arrive to Langmale Kharka, a straightforward, isolated stone hamlet that offers hot beverages and basic food and serves as a nice camping location.
Day 11
Trek to Makalu Base Camp (4,870m/6 hrs)
Beginning with a gradual ascent and vistas of Peaks 4, Chamlang, 3, and 5, the morning progresses until we reach Merek. Views of Hongku Chuli, the Pyramid Peak rising ahead, can be had by following a trail that departs from Merek and heads west along a stream. Then we make a northerly curve and reach a side valley where Makalu can be seen towering above. We continue for another hour down a flimsy path that runs along the east bank of the creek until we arrive at Shersong, a seasonal yak grazing area for the Sherpas of the Makalu region.
Day 12
Trek to Swiss Camp via Advanced Camp (5,018m/8hrs)
The trail follows the ablation valley on the west side of Barun Glacier before continuing on the lateral moraine as we leave Makalu Base Camp for our next location after breakfast. As we go closer to the valley's head, we will be rewarded to breathtaking views of Makalu's West and North West ridges, as well as Everest and Lhotse. As we move along, the trail gets rocky and ascends and descends slopes. We will reach Swiss Camp, where we will spend the night, after a few hours of walking.
Day 13
Acclimatization day at Swiss Camp (5,150m)
We will spend an extra day at Swiss Camp for resting and acclimatization.
Day 14
Trek to Sherpani Col Base Camp (5,688m/5hrs)
We set out on our walk this morning at an early hour. Today we will hike up to a greater elevation. We leave Swiss Camp on a difficult trail, climb steadily, then descend to the valley.
Day 15
Trek to Baruntse Camp via Sherpani Col Pass (6,150m) & West Col
Today is the hardest day of the trek because it takes 7-8 hours to reach Baruntse Base Camp. Sherpani Pass and West Col are the two passes we must cross, and doing so in the middle of the day can be challenging owing to weather variations.
We set out early in the morning to go up the glacier to Sherpani Pass, where we start our fixed-rope ascent. Before reaching the peak of the pass, we continue up the trail through a snow-covered gulley and up a stone step. Next, we make our way down the opposite side of the pass to the West Barun glacier valley, from whence we will ascend to the peak of the West Col.
Day 16
Trek to Hinku Cave (5500m/7 hrs)
Today we will descend into the Hinku valley, passing in front of you five enormous glacier lakes. Panch Pokhari, which translates to "five lakes" in Nepali, is the name given to these 5 lovely, tranquil lakes. In front of us, a fresh panorama of peaks appears, including Ama Dablam to the west and a great number of unnamed summits. We will put up the campgrounds in locations that are suitable.
Day 17
Trek to Amu Lapcha Base Camp (5,527m/5hrs)
We trekked for five hours today to get to Amu Lapcha Base Camp from Hinku Valley. At base camp, we'll pitch our tent, have a break, and explore the area around it.
Day 18
Acclimatization Day
At the Amu Laptsa Base Camp, we take an additional day of relaxation before preparing to cross the final pass, the Amu Laptsa Pass.
Day 19
Trek to Chhukung via Amu Laptsa Pass (5,850m/9hrs))
We set out early this morning to cross Amu Laptsa crossing, the last crossing of the expedition. Over boulders, moraine, and ice slopes, the hour-long climb to the pass's summit. Lhotse South Face, Lhotse Shar, and Island/Imjatse can all be seen from the pass' peak. We spend a good deal of time at the pass before making a ropes descent to the 150-meter-low Imjatse valley.
Time passes as the ropes descend one by one through a sheer, rocky wall. Next, we head for the Everest Khumbu region's Chukkung Valley. We check in and rest the night away once we reach the village with all the lodges.
Day 20
Trek to Tengboche (3,960m/7hrs)
After breakfast, we depart Chhukung and make our way to Chhukung Ri, where we can take in the breath-taking views of Makalu and Lhotse Nuptse Wall. As we continue, we travel through the lovely Sherpa settlements of Dingboche and Pangboche, where we will stop by the oldest monastery in the area, Pangboche Monastery, and the Dibuche Nunnery. When we get to Tengboche, we'll check in and have a nap. Later, we will tour Tengboche Monastery, the biggest monastery in the Kumbu area, which is situated in a gorgeous meadow with a 360-degree view of Everest.
Day 21
Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/5hrs)
From Tengboche, the trail descends through a magnificent rhododendron and pine forest, offering views of the Khumjung, Namche, and Kongde mountains as well as the Dudh Kosi river valley. The trail junction for Gokyo, Khumjung, Namche, and Tengboche is located at Senasa, which we will ascend after crossing the bridge at Punggi Tenga. Senasa is located below the Khumjung village. Then, before descending to Namche, we travel to Khumjung for lunch and a sightseeing stop.
Day 22
Trek to Lukla via Phakding (2,800m/8hrs)
Today marks the end of the walk. From Namche, we descend to the Dudhkoshi River before climbing to Monjo via the Sagarmatha National Park entrance. We will walk along a similarly low, warm river valley before arriving at Phakding settlement. Before reaching Lukla for our last overnight stop, we finally cross the river once more and pass through a number of small Sherpa settlements.
Day 23
Fly to Kathmandu & Transfer to Hotel
As we board the early-morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, we bid the Himalayas farewell. The rest of the day is free for leisure activities after arriving in Kathmandu and checking into the hotel.
You can take a stroll through Thamel's streets, shop for gifts for family and friends, visit the greatest spa in the area, or check out some fantastic eateries or cafes. In the evening, we will have dinner in a genuine Nepalese restaurant and take in a cultural performance.
